Philadelphia Sixers Announce Plans to Build New $1.3 Billion Arena
76 Place Expected to Open by 2031
Philadelphia, PA - The Philadelphia 76ers have unveiled plans to construct a new $1.3 billion arena named 76 Place.
The multi-purpose stadium, which will serve as the home of the NBA team, is scheduled to open by 2031. The announcement comes as the Wells Fargo Center, the current home of the Sixers, nears the end of its lease.
76 Place will feature a seating capacity comparable to that of the Wells Fargo Center and include state-of-the-art amenities and technology. The arena will be located in Center City Philadelphia, adjacent to the team's practice facility, the Philadelphia 76ers Training Complex.
The team expects to receive zoning approval for the project by June 2023, allowing construction to commence shortly after. The Sixers are aiming to have the arena completed by their 2031-2032 season.
