Paralympics Games: Australia Aims to Continue Success in Paris 2024

The Paris 2024 Paralympic Games are just around the corner and Australia is ready to defend its title.

Australia has a long and successful history at the Paralympic Games, winning more than 1,000 medals since the first Games in 1960. In Rio 2016, Australia finished fourth on the medal table with 83 medals, including 29 gold.

This year, Australia is sending a team of more than 170 athletes to Paris, including some of the country's biggest stars.

Swimmer Ellie Cole is one of Australia's most successful Paralympians, winning 17 medals, including 10 gold, at the last three Games.

She will be looking to add to her medal tally in Paris, where she will compete in the 100m freestyle, 100m backstroke, and 100m breaststroke.

Another Australian star to watch is wheelchair racer Kurt Fearnley, who has won nine Paralympic medals, including three gold.

Fearnley will be competing in the men's marathon and the men's 5,000m in Paris.

Australia is also a strong contender in team sports, with the wheelchair basketball and wheelchair rugby teams both ranked among the best in the world.

The wheelchair basketball team is aiming to win its third Paralympic gold medal in a row, while the wheelchair rugby team will be looking to improve on its silver medal from Rio.

With a strong team and a proud history, Australia is well-placed to continue its success at the Paralympic Games in Paris.
