Colin Farrell Confirms Return As Penguin In Matt Reeves' Next 'Batman' Film

Farrell's Penguin To Appear In The Batman Sequel

Colin Farrell has confirmed that he will reprise his role as the Penguin in Matt Reeves' upcoming "The Batman" sequel. The Irish actor first played the iconic villain in Reeves' 2022 film, which starred Robert Pattinson as Batman.

Penguin's Expanded Role In The Sequel

Farrell revealed his return to the role in an interview with Variety. He said, "I had a good time, so I was excited to go back." Farrell also hinted that the Penguin will have a more significant role in the sequel, saying, "There's more to come with that character."

Reeves' Vision For The Penguin

Reeves has praised Farrell's performance as the Penguin, calling him "a force of nature" in the role. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Reeves said, "Colin Farrell's Penguin is one of the most exciting characters I've ever worked on. He's so dangerous and yet so sympathetic." Reeves has also said that the Penguin will be a "major player" in the sequel.

Farrell's Excitement For The Sequel

Farrell is excited to return to the role and work with Reeves again. He said, "Matt Reeves is a brilliant filmmaker, and I'm excited to see what he does with the sequel. I think it's going to be a really special film." The Batman sequel is scheduled to be released in 2025.

In addition to Farrell, the sequel will also star Robert Pattinson as Batman, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, and Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon. The film will be written and directed by Matt Reeves.
