Hayden Hurst Limited Participant with Ankle Injury
Cincinnati Bengals Tight End Hayden Hurst
Hurst Suffered Ankle Injury in Week 17
Cincinnati Bengals tight end Hayden Hurst was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday due to an ankle injury, according to Bengals head coach Zac Taylor. Hurst suffered the injury in the Bengals' Week 17 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. The severity of Hurst's injury is not yet known, but he is expected to play in the Bengals' Wild Card playoff game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Saturday. Hurst has been a key part of the Bengals' offense this season, catching 56 passes for 571 yards and four touchdowns. If Hurst is unable to play on Saturday, the Bengals will likely turn to Drew Sample or Mitchell Wilcox to fill his role at tight end. Sample has 25 catches for 232 yards and two touchdowns this season, while Wilcox has nine catches for 91 yards and one touchdown. The Bengals are hoping that Hurst will be able to play on Saturday, as he is a valuable part of their offense. Hurst is a good blocker and can also stretch the field as a receiver. If he is unable to play, the Bengals will have to find a way to replace his production.
